The Urban League Board of Directors oversees the governance and strategic direction of the organization. They meet quarterly to move the organization forward on a variety of areas including, but not limited to, governance, financial stability, strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, operations, and member support.
On September 28, 2019 Londoners came together for the first annual Place Matters Conference: Strengthening Neighbourhoods, Building Community. One of the questions that face us as Londoners is how can we build on the uniqueness of our place?
Neighbourhoods come in all shapes and sizes. Building community across an entire neighbourhood has a lot of potential but also can seem overwhelming to some. So why not do what you can with what you have, where you are?
How do we build cities for the future? How could we improve the cultural fabric of our communities? How does a city tackle the more systemic types of crises like poverty, opioid use and housing in an immediate way, while also building a successful and vital city?
